They knew I was coming!

All that wine for me?

By 'eck! I can tell you, a northern wine tasting is like none of your namby pampy southern stuff. For a start we 'spit' internally, and the 'tastes' don't come in thimbles they come in b'***y great pint mugs.
Oh, yes.
No wonder we had to walk the two miles home!
(We got through some great songs on the way)

The menu?

Spicy Mackerel Fishcake, Wasabi Mayonnaise, Sesame Seeds

Chicken Supreme, Thyme, Black Olive Gnocchi (delicious!) Swede, Watercress Pesto

Selection of cheese, Apple, Grapes and Biscuits

Sour cherry and Line cheesecake, Lime curd, Sour cherry ice cream

Coffee and Petit Fours

And my favourite course?
Always always always cheese (even when I was a little girl and waitresses used to give my mother the 'hard stare' thinking she was in the food police when I requested cheese for my pud')

And to show you I'm not exaggerating about the size of the portions- here's my cheese plate!

And I have to admit to a little more bravado than truth where the wine was concerned... I got left behind these are the glass fulls I didn't get to quaff!
(sorry girls, when it came to it, I let you down!!)

But it was all made so much fun by Ray the Grape from Heckmondwike, who now lives in Talaga Bay New Zealand, where he produces some fab wines.

And here's Ray pressing my flesh like a true alpha mail ;-)

But seriously, Ray, I really loved that Merlot, and thank you for an interesting and informative evening... and for those of you who are wine buffs out there here are Ray's contact details:
