Whose idea was it to put me in an hotel within walking distance of Selfridges???

I have shopped and dropped and now I'm going to have a bath and go to meet my fellow authors, trying not to look too guilty as I do so.

Two pairs of boots, Susan??? How many pairs of feet do you have?

AND I walked for an hour to track down a pair of shoes in my size that I'd seen somewhere else- to no avail today... but there's still tomorrow. I may have to miss the various meetings. Oh, well...
