What's wrong with cardboard?

Have spent my first 'free' day for ages frantically dashing round trying to find curtain fabric for the new house.
Having set what I thought was a sensible budget I seem to have blown it on my first purchase!
I ask you, ladies, what is wrong with cardboard?!
But I couldn't resist this fabric... I shall have a large open-plan kitchen/family area/dining room, complete with cream Aga and wood burning stove. There is also a brick wall type area above the wood burner with a wooden beam set into it- so I'm thinking 'country'.
Now with palest linen coloured walls and a wooden floor I thought we could stand a bit of something colourful in the curtains to pick out the oak and the brick.
Eh, voila! As my French daughter would say!
I hope you approve- I shall be keeping you 'in the loop' as the house takes shape... more fabrics to follow!
(secretly, I'm loving it) Susan Stephens Perfect Housewife?
Well, perhaps that's an exaggeration too far, but it is nice to get out of the writing cave and chat to lots of lovely women in the various curtain departments... Hi Carol! Hi Linda! Hi Stephanie!
Thank you so much for your advice and help, ladies.
**** Urgent message for anyone who has been trying to contact me on susan@susanstephens.net There has been a problem with this address, but it has now been resolved. Mail away, ladies!!! ****
More tomorrow
Love to all, and happy reading everyone!

Didn't you go down to the Savoy, Susan? Too busy with the house I guess. After 18 house moves I know what it's like but have learned not to stress over it. The house will still be standing even if I don't get the curtains up straight away (had a big fall-out with an ex sister-in-law over that one, once).
