Lamp shades and Good Friends...
Another sleepless night. Finlay does not appreciate having to go to bed with a lampshade on her head to stop her licking her wound. She lets us know this vocally, and loud, and... non-stop.
Consequently, the writing cave is somewhat under-used right now. This set me to thinking about my other writer friends beavering away at their work-stations.
I'd like to tell you about a few of them- not just the cold facts, but, if you like the impressions they leave with me- so lets start with Kate Walker...
Another animal lover like me, Kate is one of those people I feel really comfortable around. She is warm and supportive, and full of practical advice for everyone. She runs a fantastic 'Virgins' group for writing conferences so no one need ever feel out of place on their first visit.
